At HELVOR LLC, we understand that the checkout experience is the final, crucial step in your shopping journey. It should be fast, intuitive, secure, and offer the flexibility you expect from a modern e-commerce leader. We have eliminated friction and prioritized peace of mind by building our entire payment infrastructure around Stripe, one of the world’s most trusted and technologically advanced payment processing platforms.
Whether you prefer to pay with a traditional credit card, a debit card, or a digital wallet like Apple Pay or Google Pay, HELVOR has you covered. Our goal is to ensure that completing your purchase takes only seconds, while your financial data remains protected by bank-grade security. Below, we provide a comprehensive overview of every payment method we accept, how Stripe protects you, and what you can expect regarding refunds, currency conversion, and transaction security.
Our Primary Payment Processor: Stripe
You may not see Stripe’s name every time you check out, but it is the powerful engine running behind the scenes. HELVOR has chosen Stripe as our exclusive payment partner for several compelling reasons:
-
Global Reputation: Stripe processes hundreds of billions of dollars annually for businesses of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 companies like Amazon, Shopify, and Zoom. Their infrastructure is battle-tested and trusted worldwide.
-
Advanced Security: Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1, which is the highest level of certification available in the payments industry. This means they adhere to the most rigorous standards for handling credit card information.
-
Seamless User Experience: Stripe’s checkout interface is clean, fast, and works flawlessly on both desktop and mobile devices. It remembers your preferences, auto-fills details when possible, and minimizes clutter.
-
Global Reach: Stripe supports payments in over 135 currencies and integrates with all major international card networks, making it easy for HELVOR to serve customers across the United States and around the world.
When you enter your payment details on helvor.space, your information is sent directly to Stripe’s secure servers. HELVOR never sees or stores your full credit card number. This tokenization process dramatically reduces the risk of data breaches.
Detailed List of Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods at checkout. No method incurs any additional fees from HELVOR, though your own bank or card issuer may charge foreign transaction fees if you are shopping internationally from outside the US. Please check with your financial institution for details.
Credit Cards
We accept all major credit card brands. Each offers its own benefits, from rewards points to purchase protection, and all are processed securely through Stripe.
Visa
Visa is the world’s most widely accepted credit card network. When you pay with Visa at HELVOR, you benefit from Visa’s zero-liability policy, which protects you from unauthorized charges. Most Visa cards also offer features like extended warranty protection and purchase security, which may complement our own Refund and Return Policy.
Mastercard
Mastercard provides similar global acceptance and robust security features, including Mastercard ID Theft Protection. Many Mastercard cards also offer price protection and return guarantees through your issuing bank. We accept all types of Mastercard, including standard, World, and World Elite.
American Express (Amex)
American Express is known for its exceptional customer service and generous rewards programs. Amex cardholders often enjoy benefits like purchase protection, return protection (which may refund you for items a merchant refuses to accept), and extended warranties. HELVOR is proud to accept American Express as a sign of our commitment to serving customers who prefer premium card networks.
Discover
Discover is widely used across the United States and offers features like Freeze It (instant card lock), Social Security number alerts, and $0 fraud liability. We gladly accept Discover cards, including Discover it, Discover Cashback, and Discover secured cards.
Debit Cards
You do not need a traditional credit card to shop at HELVOR. We accept debit cards bearing any of the major network logos (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover). Paying with a debit card withdraws funds directly from your checking account. Please ensure you have sufficient funds available at the time of purchase to avoid a decline or potential overdraft fees from your bank.
Digital Wallets
For customers who value speed and convenience above all else, we offer full integration with the two leading digital wallet platforms. Digital wallets are not only faster but also add an extra layer of security by using tokenization.
Apple Pay
If you are shopping on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac using the Safari browser, you can check out with Apple Pay in just one touch or a glance (using Face ID or Touch ID). Apple Pay does not share your actual credit card number with us. Instead, it assigns a unique Device Account Number that is encrypted and stored securely on your device’s Secure Element. This means even if your device is lost or stolen, your payment information remains safe. Apple Pay also works on the Apple Watch for added convenience.
Google Pay
Android users can enjoy the same one-touch checkout experience with Google Pay. Available on Chrome browsers and any Android device, Google Pay stores your credit and debit card information securely in your Google account. When you check out, you select Google Pay, authenticate using your screen lock (PIN, pattern, or biometrics), and the transaction is complete. Like Apple Pay, Google Pay uses tokenization to protect your actual card details.
Why We Do NOT Accept Certain Payment Methods
To maintain operational efficiency and keep our prices fair for all customers, HELVOR currently does not accept the following payment methods. We appreciate your understanding.
-
PayPal: While PayPal is a popular service, their fee structure and dispute resolution process are not optimally aligned with our direct-to-consumer model. Stripe provides us with better integration, faster payouts, and lower costs, which we pass on to you in the form of lower prices.
-
Venmo: Venmo is designed primarily for peer-to-peer transactions, not e-commerce merchant purchases. Their buyer protection policies are less robust than credit cards or Stripe’s native protections.
-
Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.): While innovative, cryptocurrency payments introduce significant price volatility and complexity for refunds. We may revisit this in the future, but for now, we focus on traditional fiat currencies.
-
Wire Transfers or Bank Drafts: These methods are slow, manual, and difficult to reconcile with automated order processing. They also lack buyer protection mechanisms.
-
Cash on Delivery (COD): For security and logistical reasons, we do not offer cash on delivery. All payments must be processed online through Stripe at the time of checkout.
-
Checks or Money Orders: Paper-based payments are prone to delays, loss, and forgery. We operate a fully digital payment ecosystem.
Security Features: How We Protect Your Financial Data
At HELVOR, security is not an afterthought; it is built into every layer of our payment infrastructure. Here is exactly how we protect you.
PCI DSS Level 1 Compliance
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is the global standard for organizations that handle credit card information. There are four levels of compliance, with Level 1 being the most stringent. Stripe is a certified PCI DSS Level 1 Service Provider. This means they undergo annual, rigorous audits by independent third-party assessors to verify their security controls. By using Stripe, HELVOR inherits this highest level of compliance without needing to store sensitive data ourselves.
Tokenization
When you enter your card details, Stripe immediately converts them into a unique digital token. This token can be used for a single transaction or saved for future purchases (if you choose to create an account). The actual card number is never transmitted to HELVOR’s servers. If our systems were ever compromised—though we take every precaution to prevent this—attackers would find only meaningless tokens, not usable credit card numbers.
TLS Encryption
Every page on helvor.space that involves entering personal or payment information is protected by TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption. You can verify this by looking for the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar and confirming that the URL begins with “https://”. TLS encrypts all data traveling between your device and our servers, preventing interception by malicious actors on public Wi-Fi or compromised networks.
3D Secure Authentication
For certain high-value transactions or when Stripe’s fraud detection algorithms flag an order as potentially risky, we may require 3D Secure authentication (also known as Verified by Visa, Mastercard ID Check, or Amex SafeKey). This is an additional step where your bank sends a one-time passcode to your phone or email, or prompts you to authenticate within your banking app. 3D Secure shifts liability for fraudulent chargebacks from the merchant (HELVOR) to the card issuer, providing an extra layer of protection for both you and us.
Real-Time Fraud Detection
Stripe’s machine learning models analyze thousands of signals about every transaction in real time: the card’s history, the IP address location, the device fingerprint, the shipping address, and even typing patterns. Suspicious transactions may be automatically blocked or flagged for manual review by our security team. Legitimate customers rarely notice this process, but it stops a significant volume of fraudulent attempts.
Refunds and How They Process Through Stripe
We want you to shop at HELVOR with complete confidence. If you need to return an item under our Refund and Return Policy, the refund process is handled quickly and transparently through Stripe.
Initiation of Refund
Once we receive and inspect your returned item (or verify a product defect via photos), our team initiates a refund directly within the Stripe dashboard. We do not impose any additional restocking fees unless explicitly stated in our policy.
Timing of Refunds
-
Credit Card/Debit Card Refunds: After we initiate the refund, Stripe sends the funds back to your issuing bank immediately. However, your bank’s internal processing times vary. Typically, you will see the refund as a pending credit within 2 to 5 business days. Some banks may take up to 10 business days. HELVOR has no control over your bank’s processing speed, but we can provide you with a refund confirmation number upon request.
-
Apple Pay/Google Pay Refunds: Refunds to digital wallets follow the same timeline as credit and debit card refunds, since these wallets are ultimately linked to a underlying card. The funds will be credited back to that linked card.
Original Payment Method Only
Refunds are always issued back to the original payment method used at checkout. We cannot issue refunds to a different credit card, via cash, or through any alternative method. This policy prevents fraud and money laundering.
Partial Refunds
In certain cases, such as a return of a single item from a multi-item order, or if an item is returned with minor damage (like missing tags), we may issue a partial refund. You will receive an email notification from Stripe detailing the adjusted amount.
Currency and International Payments
HELVOR LLC is based in the United States, and our default currency is the US Dollar (USD) . All prices listed on helvor.space are in USD.
For US Customers
You will be charged in USD. There are no currency conversion fees.
For International Customers
If you are shopping from outside the United States, your credit card issuer or bank will convert the USD total into your local currency at their prevailing exchange rate. Stripe does not add a markup on currency conversion; the rate is set entirely by your financial institution. Some banks charge a “foreign transaction fee” (typically 1% to 3%) for purchases made in a foreign currency. HELVOR does not control or receive any portion of these fees. We recommend checking with your bank before placing an international order to understand any potential extra costs.
We are actively exploring the option of displaying prices in local currencies (CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD, etc.) and settling payments in those currencies. When this feature becomes available, we will announce it prominently on our website.
Troubleshooting Common Payment Issues
Occasionally, a payment may be declined. Here are the most common reasons and how to resolve them.
Insufficient Funds
Your bank has declined the transaction because your available balance or credit limit is too low. Contact your bank or use a different payment method.
Incorrect Billing Information
The billing address you entered (street number, zip code, or CVV code) did not exactly match what your bank has on file. Double-check your information, paying close attention to abbreviations (St. vs. Street) and zip code formats.
Card Not Enabled for Online or International Purchases
Some debit cards or credit cards are set by default to block online or international transactions for security. Log into your bank’s app or call the number on the back of your card to enable these permissions.
Bank’s Fraud Block
Your bank’s automated fraud detection may flag a purchase from a new merchant as suspicious. This is actually a sign that your bank’s security is working. They may send you a text message or email asking you to verify the transaction. Once you confirm, you can attempt the purchase again.
Payment Method Not Supported
Double-check that you are using one of our accepted methods (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Apple Pay, or Google Pay). We do not accept PayPal, Venmo, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers.
If you continue to experience issues, please contact our support team at hello@helvorshop.com or call +84857491111. Do not attempt to make multiple failed payments in a row, as this may trigger additional security locks. We are happy to help diagnose the issue.
Final Note on Payment Transparency
HELVOR LLC believes in complete transparency. The total amount you see at checkout—including product price, applicable taxes, and shipping fees—is the total amount you will be charged. We do not add surprise fees, processing fees, or “convenience” charges. The price you agree to is the price you pay.
Thank you for trusting HELVOR with your payment information. We have invested heavily in Stripe and our security infrastructure so that you can focus on what truly matters: finding the perfect athletic apparel to support your active lifestyle.
